Amsterdam & Antwerp

Open garage of a company called Tri-Sure
Empty bridge building covered with graffiti
Front of the store Blom & Blom
Empty parking lot with the Antwerp Port House in the background

Front of a (most likely) abandoned Fast Food Plaza

The first three photos were taken in Amsterdam, more precisely in Noord. We’ve stayed in the lovely Sweets Hotel Gerben Wagenaarbrug (a former bridge house transformed into a hotel). In this area there were some nice spots like Café Modern (the five course dinner was just perfect) and Skatecafe for food, Public Space and The Coffee Virus – A Lab for coffee, Oedipus Brewing for drinks and Blom & Blom Store (a showroom and workshop for lamps, the third photo shows the entrance).

The other three photos were taken in Antwerp while walking through Eilandje to the Port House (the fourth photo) – the new structure above the original building was designed by Zaha Hadid. We’ve only spent one day there, but here are some recommendations: Normo and Kolonel Coffee Roastery for coffee. And I could have spent hours in the International Magazine Store and Copyright, a book store specialized in art and architecture.
